Leading business intelligence solutions company

Background

In Q4 2005, CPH Consulting was contacted by the global leader in business intelligence solutions to assist with the hiring of up to 80 staff per annum for their UK business, across all disciplines. At that time the client had their own in house recruitment manager and was heavily reliant on agencies to hire candidates.

Client's need

To achieve headcount, primarily for Sales and Professional Services positions, to improve the interview to offer ratio and the 'time to fill', for all open vacancies.

Results

The CPH team, comprising of two experienced onsite recruiters, supported by our off site researchers, built a direct recruitment model. At the end of our initial one year contract CPH had achieved the following:

  • Headcount targets hit across all disciplines
  • Agency reliance reduced from over 90% to below 5%
  • Cost per hire reduced by 30%
  • Time to fill vacancies significantly reduced
  • Interview to offer ratio improved by 30%
  • Hires through internal referrals increased by 20%
  • 1st year new joiner attrition reduced by 36%

These achievements resulted in CPH Consulting being awarded a new two year, renewable contract. Since 2007, all candidates have been sourced directly by the CPH team, without agencies - reducing the cost per hire by a further 15%. Both the 'time to fill' and interview to offer ratio have been further improved.

Management consultancy sector client

Background

In late 2006 CPH was contacted by a market leading, specialist management consulting firm, to tender for an initial one year recruitment outsourcing contract, which was based on hiring 50-60 experienced management consultants, across a range of levels and disciplines. CPH Consulting was successful in its bid and commenced onsite in early January 2007.

Client's need

To improve on a number of recruitment KPI's - including the average cost per hire; average time to hire; reducing the percentage of hires made through agencies, and increasing the percentage of hires made through direct sourcing.

Results

At the end of our first six months onsite, CPH had achieved the following:-

  • Reduced the cost per hire by almost 30% against the 2006 average cost per hire
  • Reduced the average time to hire from just under 7 weeks in 2006 to just under 4 weeks.
  • Halved the percentage of hires made through agencies from 60% in 2006 to 21%.
  • Increased the number of direct hires from 40% to 79%, through a combination of CPH direct sourcing activities and employee referrals,

We continued to build on these successes during the second half of 2007, including reducing further the percentage of agency hires. We were rewarded with a new recruitment outsourcing contract for 2008.
